Seatwright

Seating by table shape

Start from the tables you rented. Each shape shows how many guests fit, then turns your list into escort cards, place cards, table numbers, and a seating chart, all print-ready from one paste. Seatwright seats by the label you give each table, so any shape works.

Round tables

about 8 guests, the most common size

The most common reception table. A round seats a whole group facing each other, which is why most weddings and banquets use them.

Long banquet tables

about 8 to 10 guests

Rectangular banquet tables seat guests down both long sides, and sometimes the ends. A long-table room feels communal and family-style.

Head table

the couple plus the wedding party, usually 6 to 20 in all

One long table for the couple and the wedding party, usually facing the room. It is the table every photo includes, so the order matters.

Sweetheart table

just the two of you

A small table for the couple alone. It gives you a moment to breathe, a clean photo, and lets the wedding party sit with their own guests.

U-shape tables

seated along the outside of the U, count depends on how many tables form it

Banquet tables arranged in a U, with guests on the outside so everyone faces the center. Common for rehearsal dinners, showers, and seminars.

Square tables

about 8 guests, two per side

Square tables seat one or two per side, four to eight in all. They suit smaller rooms, restaurants, and a cleaner, modern look.

Estate (king's) tables

long banquet tables joined end to end, counted down both long sides

Also called a king's or feasting table. Several banquet tables pushed end to end into one long run, seating a whole side of the room family-style.

Cocktail (high-top) tables

standing height, usually no assigned seats

High-top tables for a standing reception. Guests mingle rather than sit, so these tables usually are not assigned at all.

Mixed table shapes

any mix of shapes, seated by the label you give each table

Real rooms mix shapes: rounds for guests, a long head table, maybe an estate run for the family. Seatwright does not care what shape a table is.
